Genealogy Research

The regular rate for research services is $50 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours and will include research, analysis, and reporting.  This fee includes up to 20 working and/or final copies of documents while any further copies or fees imposed by others will be charged at cost.  The client will be notified in advance of any anticipated charges when possible and may place a limit at any time.  Additional charges for travel or other expenses may apply for repositories outside of the Raleigh area.  These charges may be shared between multiple clients requiring research at the same repository.

Record Copies

Crystal is also available for simple record retrieval for those unable to travel to North Carolina.  Records from the North Carolina State Archives will be copied or photographed and sent by either electronic or regular mail as requested at a rate of $10 plus copying expenses per record with complete citations or at the current hourly rate for record searches without citations.  Requests for records from other local repositories will be considered on a case by case basis or according to demand for a particular location.

Do-It-Yourself Review

Many people find that the search is half the fun of genealogy but they want to be sure they are following the correct line or have hit a brick wall they just can’t get around.  For those of you trying to do the research yourself, Crystal offers a review only option to review past family history research for accuracy and recommend future directions to help you move past that brick wall ancestor.

Gift Certificates

Give the gift of their very own story!  A gift certificate for family history research offers a personalized gift for that hard to shop for person in your life.  Even if they already know much of their family history, there is always more to learn.  Gift certificates are ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, or any special occasion.
